Downtown, Quality of Life

Special by Blaire Friar, Main Street & CVB assistant director

(Seguin) — Join us in Downtown Seguin on Saturday, November 11, as the Seguin Commission on the Arts hosts its second annual Art & Wine Walk from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Back by popular demand, this event will feature local artists displaying and performing their art and area wineries serving their wines all inside downtown stores.

Walk participants will check in to the event in Central Park where they will be given their tote bag, wine glass, map, tasting tickets, and more. From there, attendees will make their way around downtown to shop inside the stores, taste delicious wines, and view the artwork from our talented artists.

“We had such a good response to this event last year,” said Blaire Friar, Main Street & CVB Assistant Director, “The Commission on the Arts has been working hard to grow the event this year to support local artists and our downtown merchants.”

There are still opportunities for local artists to get involved in the event. If an artist is interested in setting up a display or performing inside one of the stores, all they need to do is visit https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/277326P to sign up and you will be assigned a place. The artist will be responsible for providing their own table and equipment.

Some of the regional wineries participating this year include: Blue Lotus Winery & Texas Meadworks, Kerrville Hills Winery, Lost Draw, Rustic Spur Vineyards, Rusty Hook Winery, San Ducerro Winery, and Windmill Farm Winery. Also participating as wine stops this year are 1916 Bar & Bistro, Pecantown Books & Brews, and Sips & Gulps where you can sample some of their house wines.

Earlybird tickets to the Art & Wine Walk are $30.00 and are on sale at https://2023ArtandWineWalk.eventbrite.com or at the Seguin Visitor Center. But hurry, the price per ticket will increase to $35.00 on October 28. Special priced tickets for our Veterans are $25 and available for purchase at the Seguin Visitor Center only. All proceeds from the event support Seguin’s public art program.

A huge thank you to our event sponsors: Guadalupe Regional Medical Center, Gift & Gourmet, TQI, LLC, TRC Engineers, Inc., and Tri-County A/C.
