Built from the ground up 7 years ago, Seguin, Texas-based manufacturer Rave Gears continues to grow and prosper, producing high-quality, precision CNC machining, prototyping, reverse engineering and supply of gears and gear shafts.

The story of this successful operation dates back to 2006, after thriving in the hotel business in Texas, Rave Gears President and CEO, Nick Patel contacted Bruce Roberge, a former colleague, with a keen idea to break into the gear manufacturing market. Using Patel’s connections in India, the two decided to try their hand at outsourcing gears for the American commercial market. Mr. Patel and Mr. Roberge went forward with the plan and bought parts from overseas, but soon found it economically impossible sustain. Fast forward to 2012, in working with the Seguin Economic Development Corporation, Mr. Patel located Rave Gears in Seguin, Texas. Little did he know in just a quick 7 years he would be in need of expanding.

When asked about the company’s future expansion, Vice President of Sales and New Business Development, Carey Rolfing, commented “The reason for the need to expand is driven purely by demand. We have recently finally broke through with several major new OEM’s. This has been a long process, almost two years in the making. In addition to the new opportunities we have seen demand go up in all of our current key accounts, Aerospace, NASCAR and Formula 1. All of this growth can be attributed to our quality and delivery, without expansion we will not be able to meet customer’s delivery requirements due to not enough capacity. Facility expansion is a must for our continued success.”

Currently, Rave Gears is working closely with City Staff on a proposed 80,000 square foot expansion to their existing facility.

“Rave has been very fortunate to work with the city from the very beginning. The City is willing to work with us as a growing business and we have a good relationship that truly goes a long way. The mindset of the community is awesome and the people here do care about their community and want good paying career minded jobs to be created and stay here in the community. This is reflected in the amount of collaboration between the cities, the schools at every level, and the local business here in the community.” Said Rolfing.

Rave Gears currently has 60 employees. As Rave Gears adds continues to add new customers and expand their building footprint, the need for talented passionate people will grow as well.

“We do not have a definite date on moving dirt quite yet, but we hope to be moving along by summer 2019 or earlier, “said Rolfing.
